PLI Scheme for White Goods (ACs & LED Lights) 21st February, 2022

Dear Member,

The subject PLI scheme for White Goods (AC’s & LED Lights) – PLIWG- was announced last year and was open for application till 15/09/2021. The period of investment was from 2021 onwards for 5 years. It received a good response and several companies were approved for benefits under the Scheme. Kindly refer to the attachments which have been circulated earlier also and which provide all the details about the Scheme.

We have now been informed that based on demand from industry, DPIIT is considering reopening of the Scheme for a short period in the beginning of March so that interested Companies who could not apply earlier are now able to do so. This will also allow existing applicants to enhance their investment limits or move to a higher category if they so desire. In order to open the Scheme, the government needs to know the interest of the industry in investing. Accordingly, if ELCINA Members are interested in availing benefits under the Scheme, we request you to kindly let us know about your intent which we will forward to the government and encourage them to reopen the Scheme for benefit of Members and growth of this sector.

Please provide the following broad details as follows:

Product/Component which you would like to invest in – AC Components or LED Components and details of the same.

  • Approximate Amount you would like to invest
  • Whether it will be an expansion of existing facility or greenfield project?
  • Have you applied under the PLIWG Scheme last year and wish to move up to a higher category of investment or is this your first application?
